Elizabeth Anyanacho, a 300 level student of Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Imo state is the first Nigerian female in 16 years to qualify for Taekwondo at the Olympics and the second ever Nigerian woman after Princess Dudu’s feat at the Athens 2004 Olympics.
Elizabeth, who lives in the vicarage and was discovered by the Chika Chukwumerije Sports Foundation is currently ranked 87 in the world.
Her bronze medal win at the African Games in Rabat, Morocco amongst other titles is signal of the big thing to come her way at the Olympics.
