Omotayo Olajide, a professional table tennis player is the current African Games champion following the defeat of his compatriot, Aruna Quadri in the finals of table tennis event at the 2019 African Games. Olajide, known for his offensive playing style with a strong topspin stroke says his expectation in Tokyo is to exhibit his talent.
In a chat with NOCMedia, Olajide said:
“I have been putting in all the work and I believe with God all things are possible. My expectation is just to play at my best because I know that’s the only way to bring out a good performance which is exactly what I want. This being my first ever Olympic appearance, I would try as much as possible to take every match at a time. I don’t want to be carried away or get too emotionally over there. Above all, I want to exhibit my God giving talent and enjoy the atmosphere because being already at the Olympic Games is a big accomplishment which every athlete dreams of”
