GLASGOW — Immediately following the vibrant Closing Ceremony of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, top Nigerian sports dignitaries gathered with the national contingent for a joyful and motivational session outside the venue, officially shifting focus toward the next Games cycle in Ahmedabad, India.
Leading the delegation was the President of the Nigeria Olympic Committee and Commonwealth Games Association of Nigeria, Engr. Habu Ahmed Gumel, alongside the Chairman and Director of the Sports Commission. Addressing the triumphant contingent—fresh off a historic campaign that saw Nigeria top the African standings with 24 total medals (10 Gold, 7 Silver, and 7 Bronze)—the sports leaders extended high praise for the athletes’ patriotism, discipline, and outstanding podium performances.
