NOC, NVBF to Host IOC/FIVB Beach Volleyball Technical Coaches Course in Abuja
The Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC), in partnership with the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), has announced plans to co-host a five-day International Olympic Committee (IOC)/FIVB Beach Volleyball Technical Coaches Course in Abuja.
The programme forms part of the IOC’s global education initiatives delivered through Olympic Solidarity in collaboration with the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB). It is aimed at strengthening the technical capacity of beach volleyball coaches and promoting international coaching standards.
Designed to train beach volleyball coaches from across Nigeria, the programme seeks to equip participants with modern coaching techniques and internationally recognised best practices.
Participants will receive intensive training in several key areas, including:
Beach volleyball techniques and strategies
Tactical awareness
Coaching methodology
Sports science and physical conditioning
These modules are intended to provide coaches with a deeper understanding of the modern game, enabling them to enhance athlete development and improve performance at both national and international competitions.
The Nigeria Olympic Committee reaffirmed its commitment to advancing sports development in the country, noting that the IOC/FIVB Beach Volleyball Technical Coaches Course represents an important step in raising coaching standards, aligning with global best practices, and supporting the continued growth of beach volleyball in Nigeria.
