Paralympic star Goodness Nwachukwu produced a sensational performance in the Women’s Discus Throw F42-44/F61-64 Final. Saving her absolute best for her final attempt, Nwachukwu launched the discus to a world-record distance of 39.66 metres.

The incredible throw shattered her previous F42 World Record by over three metres and successfully defended her Commonwealth title, earning Team Nigeria its 7th Gold Medal of the Glasgow Games.

Jessica Oji: Silver Medal on Commonwealth Debut

Teenage sensation Jessica Oji announced her arrival on the international stage with a remarkable performance in the Women’s Shot Put Final. Making her Commonwealth Games debut for Team Nigeria, the 19-year-old threw a distance of 17.87 metres to capture the Silver Medal.

Oji showed remarkable poise and determination against a world-class field, securing silver on countback ahead of Jamaica’s Lloydricia Cameron.
